How to Make a Keto Pie Crust (with Pictures)

You may be asking why two flours are required to create a crust. I was determined for a long time to make the crusts as basic as possible, using either coconut flour or almond flour. However, after experimenting with hundreds of recipes, I discovered that a good crust made all the difference. To make the finest pie crust, you’ll need the perfect mix of almond flour and coconut flour.

It’s all about the temperature!

It’s essential to have the proper temperature while dealing with these pie crusts and attempting to shape them to your pie plate. Before attempting to roll out the pie crust dough, chill it for approximately an hour or place it in the freezer for 30 minutes. If you can’t work with this dough because it’s too warm or too cold, it’s because it’s too warm or too cold.

Make use of cold butter.

Cold butter is required for most pie crusts, as well as any baked product that requires a flaky texture. When cold butter meets a hot oven, something magical occurs, and any pie crust, even a keto pie dough, becomes flaky.

When rolling out the crust, use parchment paper.

Sticking the crust between two pieces of parchment paper is the easiest method to roll it out to the size you need for your pie. This helps keep the dough together by preventing it from sticking. If you’re having difficulty with this step, it’s likely because the dough isn’t cold enough.
